I have just added a digital book on this web site that really is a must download if you are seriously into photography. It is easy reading, has plenty of photos and is more helpful than any other book I have read.

It is about 84 MB download but trust me, but well worth the download. I won't leave it there for long, a few weeks maybe to give everyone a chance to download it.

Click on this link http://www.ozphotos.dpdforum.com/

and download this file

Focal.Press.Digital.Nature.Photography.Aug.2007.rar

Let me know what you think

Hi Ralph- I tried to open your link for the book. I can't get it to open in that format. (.rar) Does the download come in any other format?

Sorry Dawn, I htought everyone had Winrar, 90% of all zipped files are in RAR format.
You can download a copy from here

http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10007677.html

Or anywhere else on the net.

Have changed the link. This is a free trial version of winrar. should work better.

Has anyone actually downloaded this file?
How did you go, did it unzip okay>?
What was the download speed like?
I tried a download as a test and found it quite slow. Is that what those of you who have downloaded it found?

I believe winrar is the problem. I changed the link to a 40trial version. Hopefully that will get your file unzipped.

Think I best take that file down and replace it with a winzip file. Sorry to those who don't and use Winrar.

Hey Ralph. I downloaded it within minutes of you putting it up there.
I had a different RAR unziper but I also downloaded winrar and now have that running on my machine. I had no trouble with the speed and the file that it unzipped was truely worth the effort. What a magic tutorial that is. It would have to one of the best I have seen.

Come on folks, do yourself a favour (favor, for the yankies) and download this file.
You know you want to!

Ralph, I just downloaded the book - only took about 2 minutes, using RAR. What beautiful photographs, although I've seen plenty of similar work from members of this group! Can't wait to have the time to really look through it thoroughly. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post it.

Thanks for the link Ralph. I have been back and forth to Michigan quite a bit lately, so tonight was the first chance that I had to try to open the book. I had never heard of .rar, most compressed files are opened here with winzip. As soon as I downloaded winrar, I was able to open the book in minutes like John. Didn't get to read it through, but noticed the photographer lived for a while in Michigan....so of course the book has to be good! lol Thanks again for your help and the book.

Thats strange Dawn, I would say 90% or more of files I download from the net are winrar files. I also have winzip installed hardly if ever use it.

Anyway alls well that ends well. Pleased to hear you have it uncompressed and able to read it. I am sure you will benefit from it when you do get around to reading it.
